ARTIST STATEMENT
My work is based on my travels throughout the western part of the country and the nostalgic feelings of memories and individual perception. My paintings investigate color and shape relationships in the landscapes. The muted palette is contained in abstractions that delineate and organize the organic elements. The individual shapes of value and light coalesce to create a larger whole. The receding spaces are meant to convey a sense of depth and a feeling of magnitude. My aim is to evoke the ethereal quality of sublime nature.
